Competitions Calendar for 2008
If you haven’t competed in any of our Competition Days so far, make sure you try it this year. Flying is available at all levels of skills, including Novice. The competitions are great fun and an excellent way to improve your flying skills. Also there are handsome trophies to be won.
The rules are simple but extremely important. Besides the Class Rules that will be enforced, there are some important issues to remember ……
1) Have fun!
2) Abide but the Safety Rules at all times for everyone’s continued enjoyment!
3) Have Fun!
4) There will be no flying of other aircraft while competition events are in progress
5) HAVE FUN!

David Pound has agreed to be the Competition Co-ordinator for 2008. The events are conducted by the Competition Directors as advised, with David co-ordinating and helping. If you have any enquiries about the competitions, please ring David on:

If prevailing weather conditions make you uncertain as to whether the event is being held or postponed, please check this Website on the morning of the event.

Class Rules for 2008
Stock Class Rules 
*  the "PriceRite" and the "Plagiarist" are the accepted models
* .46 maximum engine size. No special high performance engines. 
*  No modifications allowed to engine. Standard cast aluminium muffler (max. length 6”) with baffle in place 
*  4 servos only  (single aileron, elevator, rudder, throttle) 
Allowed Modifications: 
*  Wing Bolts instead of rubber bands 
*  After market undercarriage instead of supplied wire u/c 
*  After market push-pull control linkages. Pull-pull cables of any type not allowed 
*  Tail Wheels may be added
*  Tricycle undercarriage 
NB: the more advanced the pilot, the more strictly these rules will be applied.
Sport Class Rules 
· Must not be purpose built model.

Open Class Rules 
· ANYTHING GOES! 
Novice Class Rules 
· Must use trainer type aircraft
· Pilot must be able to fly proficiently (Bronze Wings)
· Pilot must have been flying less than 12 months 
1/12 Scale Class Rules 
· Only 1/12 scale warbirds
· No profiles
· Undercarriage optional 
Glider 
· The competition is open to any size or type of glider.
· Bungee launches must be made using the club bungee provided. 
Electric 
· The competition is open to any size or type of electric powered model.
