Moments submitted, very promptly, his report on the combat event.

I, much less promptly, have posted it [HERE] for your reading pleasure!

Sadly, I must let you know of the passing of Garry Welsh on Monday 31st October 2011at the San Hospital.

On behalf of all our members, we give our deepest sympathies to Maureen, Ben and family. Garry was a club personality with a lifetime of experience in aviation and the technicalities of our hobby. I'm sure that you will all have your own memories of Garry and his huge range of aircraft.

Garry is on the left in the photo below. Taken with some of his mates at 2009 Scale Day.

The funeral will be held at 9:30am, Friday 4th November 2011, at the Macquarie Park Crematorium, where Plessey Road meets Delhi Road, and gathering, afterwards, at St Matthew's Church Hall in West Pymble.

Rob Kaley has been at the turps again. Here's his latest scheme, in his own words (and pictures):

"Last saturday, I took my new invention down to Belrose...an ugly stick (electric) with a Hobby king mini swift glider piggy-backed on the wing.

I built the cradle with a servo (channel 5) release the idea being my Dad (George Kaley) had a transmitter for the glider and I flew the plane up, then when at a sufficient height, released the glider and off he should sail.

It all worked well, the electric plane was a little hard to fly once the glider was released, I think it was the drag from the cradle, and I'll attend to that before the next session.

2 flights with no dramas (so far)."
